The lungs are the target organ among the most affected by the Covid-19 coronavirus, which leads us to ask the question… is Stem cell therapy able to strengthen and create new healthy cells in the lungs?
Covid-19 causes lung lesions in patients, if not given the necessary attention it could be fatal. Which is why researchers are now focused on coming up with a way to repair the injured tissues using stem cells.
Experts like Dr. Odalis Maria dela Guardia Pena, a second degree specialist in immunology has labeled stem cells are a promising cure. Researchers have conducted a first phase of clinical trials using mother cells in patients who have suffered in lung lesions because of Covid-19 in Cuba and it is looking promising.
The study began in March 2020 of this year at the Institute of Hematology and Immunology (IHI), and the main goal is to provide a cure for the lesions that have occured in the lungs due to Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
If the study is successful in Cuba, there is a possibility that stem cells will be used as a generalized treatment. The cure can even be extended in resolving the damage that occurs in the heart, kidney, brain, nervous system, lower limbs and the vascular system.
At the moment, the notion of curing the lungs in a 100% capacity is still far from happening. The hope then is for stem cells to be able to increase lung capacity and improve the quality of life of a person affected.
As award winning author, musician, humanitarian and filmmaker Lourdes Duque Baron would often say, “Stem cells will reverse aging and improve the quality of life for many, but it is not a ticket to immortality“.
The study is not yet finished, but doctors and researchers are expressing positive signs about the use of stem Cells when it comes to regenerating the strength of the lungs.
Stem Cells and Lung Regeneration
Since the early 1990’s lung transplantation is the only accepted way of treating end-stage lung diseases. More than 26,000 lung transplants have been performed at hospitals worldwide. However, the availability of donor tissues and organs is a huge problem because of the limitations. It is not easy to acquire lungs that can be transferred to the patient. Which is why many researchers are relying on the field of stem cell regeneration to help find a cure. It is a promising alternative, a new therapeutic approach that has a wide application.
Stem Cells or regenerative medicine focuses on replacing the cells instead of the organs. It has the ability to form a new functional tissue, and it is within the field of tissue engineering, gene therapy and biomedical engineering.
Stem Cell therapy aims to provide a safer and effective way to cure the lungs. It is the great hope for the future of medicine. Studies focus on adult cells, bone marrow stem cells, umbilical cord blood stem cells, embryonic stem cells and the recently discovered pluripotent stem cells or adult cells.
There is a strong belief in the medical community that stem cells contribute to tissue maintenance and repair even in the area of the lungs.
Stem cells may act as genetic vectors in certain diseases needing replacement of a protein or DNA. The use of stem cell therapy can also help in understanding how to treat certain malignancies in the lungs. Further study of the role of cancer stem cells is also vital to help develop specific therapies that will help combat cancer as a whole.
As of present, researchers were already able to identify and characterize stem cell that produces new air sac cells in mouse models who have lung injury and in human lung tissue. This new findings boost the support for stem cell therapy to be used in lung regeneration.
New Breed of Homo Sapiens
Lourdes Duque Baron is a living testament of the great wonders of Regenerative Medicine by way of Stem Cell therapy.
She is an Award-winning Author, Actress, Film Producer, Musician and Humanitarian Lourdes Duque Baron.
73 year old Lourdes Duque Baron is a New Breed of Homo Sapien. One of the people who was able to experience healing of her Osteoporosis by way of stem cell therapy.
Her upcoming book New Breed of Homo Sapiens will recount how stem cell therapy helped cure her Osteoporosis. The book will narrate the powerful and life changing effects of regenerative medicine in her entire body and mind.
“I want my readers to fully understand and grasp the importance of this medical breakthrough,” she said. “We are talking about the future generations and the new breed of humans, and I want to bring the knowledge to the public’s door step,”.Lourdes Duque Baron
“I am living proof that stem cell based therapy really works.” Elucidating how this was the spark that brought about the idea to write, New Breed of Homo SapiensLourdes Duque Baron
Lourdes Duque Baron is a receiver of billions of stem cells from FGAAA ( Feeling Good At Any Age- The One Stop Rejuvenation Clinic) in California. Her body is filled with high doses of stem cells that help treat the core cause of aging. As a result, her skin and bodily organs is rejuvenated and revitalized.
