1.The Song of Bernadette (1943)

The Song of Bernadette is a story about the life of St. Bernadette of Lourdes. She was a teen-aged peasant girl who grew up in a small french village in Lourdes during the 19th century. Bernadette Soubirous in the story was played by Hollywood actress Jennifer Jones.

Bernadette, while out with her sisters to gather some firewood for their father, suddenly experienced a vision of the Virgin Mary in a nearby grotto. At first, she thought it was just a beautiful lady she was seeing, but over time she realized that it was a wonderful apparition. The magnificent lady spoke to her and told her that she is the ” Immaculate Conception”. She frequently came to the grotto to give her respect to the vision of the lady that she was seeing, but this alarmed the leaders in their community, prompting an investigation.

The mayor and some local priests opposed her at first, they wanted to stop her from visiting the grotto and claimed that she was a silly girl who was making up fake stories. At one point, they even wanted Bernadette to go to a psychiatric facility to get herself checked. 

But soon, due to the many wonders and miracles that are happening in the community, and finally the blessing of a healing well that sprang miraculously where the grotto is to be found. The Priests and the nuns came to believe her.

Hundreds of people suddenly traveled to Lourdes and sought the healing power that they believe was given by the powerful being of light that was seen by Bernadette. To this day the Grotto of Lourdes remains one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. 20th Century-Fox took a huge gamble with the movie The Song of Bernadette but it paid off. It became such a huge hit and remains to this day as one of the highest-grossing films of 20th Century Fox.

Bernadette Soubirous never recanted and stood firm with her conviction about the magnificent lady that she saw and how she said to her” “ I CAN’T promise you happiness in THIS world … ONLY in the NEXT. The year after she died a few years later she was canonized as a saint. The Grotto of Lourdes remains as a permanent shrine to people who are seeking healing and miracles.

The performance of Jennifer Jones in The Song of Bernadette won her the Best Actress Oscar. The film was directed by Henry King and Written by George Seaton. 

2. The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima  (1952)

In 1917, there were three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal who claimed they saw a vision of a lovely lady in a cloud. The anticlerical government was alarmed because of the impact of the news in the community and wanted to stop the news about what the children saw. But the three children stood by their story and said that the message given was about peace and hope.

The vision of the lady was widely believed by the people, and the last vision that came was attended by thousands of people, proving that it was not a mere spectacle. The movie was based on actual events at Fatima in 1917. 

The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima is a Warner Color feature film, it was created using fact-based events, surrounding the apparitions in Portugal in 1917. 

Susan Whitney played the role of Lucia dos Santos, Sherry Jackson, as Jacinta Marto and Sammy Ogg as Francisco Marto, while Gilbert Roland played the role of Hugo. The children rediscovered their faith and deep love for God through the miracle of the sun. It received accolades and an Academy Award nomination. 

3. Ben- Hur (1959)

Judah Ben-Hur is about a wealthy merchant living in Judea at the time of Christ. The movie timeline happened under the time of the Roman Empire, where the land reeks of revolt due to the oppressive ways and laws of the Roman soldiers. 

The new tribute Messala is long time friends with Judah when they were young, but when they met each other as grown-ups, it became clear that they have conflicting opinions about the Empire. Messala became harsh and calculating, driven by fierce ambition and to please Caesar, while Judah doesn’t want to betray his people. Because of this Messala wants him to choose if they are going to be enemies or friends. 

The movie revolves around the conflict and adventures between the two, and later on, Judah meets an Arab sheik who is an old wise man named Balthasar, he is one of those who followed the star of Bethlehem at the time of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Balthasar began to believe and seek Christ and in the process also befriended Judah and trained him for chariot racing against Messala. Judah becomes a skilled charioteer and was well celebrated, but in the process of the fight between him and Messala, he ends up wounding Messala leading to the amputation of his Messala’s legs. 

Both of the men contracted leprosy and both were thrown outside of the colony to live their final days. Judah wanted to be released from life’s bitterness and as he was walking, he encountered Balthasar again, who shared Jesus Christ to him. Judah was so thirsty for the word of the Lord, for the living Christ. Balthasar shared the powerful and redeeming love of Christ to help ease Judah’s pain. 

While trying to seek for his mother and sister in prison, he happened to chance the trial of Jesus Christ. Judah was one of those who witnessed the sacrifice and suffering of Jesus Christ in crucifixion. 

As Jesus Christ passes, Judah recognizes him as the young man who saved his life with a simple drink of water in the desert. Amazed, he pushed through the guards, and as Jesus Christ fell, Judah carried a gourd of water to Him and helped Him to drink. Gazing through the eyes of Jesus Christ, his life began to transform. At the crucifixion, Judah and Balthasar weep at the cruelty that Christ had undergone. Inside a nearby cave, a flash of light occurred and soon revealed that his leprosy has been healed- a miracle has happened to him. Judah thanked God and the restoration that came to him. 

Jesus Christ restored him and his family, and because he witnessed the great love of Jesus Christ for humanity, the hatred was released from his heart and his soul was saved. 

4. The Ten Commandments (1956)

To escape the harsh edict of Egypt’s Pharaoh Rameses I that condemns  all newborn Hebrew males to death, then infant Moses was set adrift on the Nile River inside a reed basket. The pharaoh’s daughter felt compassion for the baby and picked him up and raised Moses as her son. Moses grew up living the life of a privileged Eygptian and was well-loved by Princess Nefretiri. But when his Hebrew heritage was revealed, Moses was cast out of Egypt, he made his way to the desert and there he met his wife, who bore him children.

There he meets the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac – Creator of Heaven and Earth. In Mount Sinai, he saw a burning bush, and he heard the voice of the Lord commanded Moses to free the Israelites from bondage.

This is a story of the chronicles and life of Moses together with the Israelites- the chosen people of God in the Old Testament. It depicts when the Ten Commandments were given as a rule for the people to follow and how God proved His amazing and wonderful love and protection for Israel by bringing them out of bondage.

Lourdes Duque Baron is finalizing the script and details of the cast and crew shooting dates for Scripted in Heaven. In an interview, she stated that ” I want to Ignite Spiritual Renaissance in the world”
